Woodcut Block-Print Map

I’m a big fan of Heather Smith’s woodcut block-print map of the Annapolis River. She and I have been collaborating on a series of blog posts describing how she made it, and how I tried to replicate it digitally. Here’s my effort:

Up next on in the series is Heather describing the creation and application of a custom font file, then I’ll wrap up with an application of this style to other parts of the globe.
