Hi there! I’m a cartographer and User Experience designer in Lansing, Michigan. Some of my work has been featured in National Geographic Magazine, FastCompany, the Guardian, the Atlantic Cities, Discovery News, the blogs of NASA and the Smithsonian, as well as the front page of Reddit (I couldn’t believe it either) a few times.
I sometimes speak at Geo-Science and technology conferences, presenting nervously on topics including data visualization, cartography, UX, and social media.
I write about scintillating geo/visualization here at Adventures In Mapping (and before that at uxblog.idvsolutions.com). Usually, I’ll include a link to a nerdier how-to resource at Esri’s blog: www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/author/j_nelson.
